30+ Year Journey:
I started out slow in my craft but hopefully will end strong.
I have always had a love for arts and crafts, but went to College for a Science degree. It took me working in the field of Respiratory Therapy for 5 years and meeting a couple of great ladies that owned a custom jewelry store to change my life forever. (My ex mother in law was one of them). They wanted to retire and I really was ready to go in a new direction and decided to take the plunge and partner with my ex brother in law who was the goldsmith.
He taught me well, so kudos to him. I divorced and met my Husband now at our 20th High School Reunion. He told me to sell my part of the business and move to TN with him. Which I did in 1999, it’s been a slow start trying to start a business from scratch. I’ve tried all kinds of sales techniques; it was way different from a brick and mortar store, which I didn’t want to do again. I had a hard time selling locally, everyone is used to what I call “Mall Store Jewelry” and had never seen my style in TN.
Finally, I started a ETSY Shop and things took off. People are looking for special handmade quality items and I’ve done well. So, I decided to make a new website which you are looking at. I think I’ve found my calling (and it’s probably not website building) but I enjoy working with new customers designing a new one of a kind piece. Looking forward to working with you on your next One of a Kind heirloom.
You can tell my other passions in my picture above (well my husband is missing but he’s the best). My 5 Rescue Dogs, my garden’s and Kayaking.
Hope you enjoyed learning a little more about my journey.
